Springtime Village

About this piece
This painting depicts a quiet rural scene using soft, pastel colours and loose, expressive brushstrokes to create a light and airy atmosphere. The simple forms of the house, trees, and landscape are suggested rather than fully detailed, allowing the viewer to focus on the overall mood and sense of place. The use of pale greens, pinks, and warm neutrals gives the scene a gentle, spring-like feeling, while the visible texture of the paint adds a natural and spontaneous quality. The composition is open and balanced, with the trees guiding the viewer’s eye across the space. This style is strongly connected to Impressionism, where artists focused on capturing light, colour, and everyday scenes rather than precise detail. This painting conveys a peaceful and relaxed moment in nature through soft colour, texture, and simplified forms.
