About this piece

Strata, a series of three, draws inspiration from geological formations and erosion patterns, transforming layered landforms into abstract studies of texture, depth, and natural rhythm. Built through printmaking processes, tonal layering, and finely textured mark-making, the compositions evoke sedimentary layers, weathered stone, and distant horizons while remaining open to interpretation. Influenced by the traditions of etching, printmaking, and abstract landscape art, the series emphasizes the expressive potential of subtle marks, repetition, and reduction. Through its balance of texture, tone, and form, Strata explores the visual history embedded within the landscape, revealing parallels between geological processes and abstract composition.
